Lustrafjorden

From Balestrand, we knew we had a long day of driving - inland across the mountains and then back out to the fjords again by the end of the day. For days, the forecast had shown the weather clearing, so we were keeping our fingers crossed for some blue skies.

Lustrafjord(en) is the innermost part of the Sognefjord, and therefore about as far from the open ocean as you can get around here and still be on salt water. There was nothing in particular we were doing, other than heading through on our way to the mountains, a long day of driving, and our next hotel, but it was nice to see the sun coming out.

We had our typical grocery store lunch along the way. And the Lustrabui Bakery was just sort of an unexpected windfall.
