Hjelle

Everywhere in western Norway seems to be reached via a long series of tunnels or a steep set of switchbacks. In this case it was both. But not everywhere we stayed in Norway was quite so remarkable in terms of lake, mountains, light, and weather.

Hjelle is on a lake (Oppstrynsvatnet), which in Norway is still considered to be a fjord, even if the ocean hasn't reached quite this far. It also provided me the first new beach for my collection in more than a week.

Of course, we were most drawn to the small team of autonomous mowers that very quietly grazed on the various lawns. They should have had collars with name tags.
