Chicago
We built our trip around two three-day blocks, the first in New York City and the second in Chicago, where we arrived Saturday afternoon (July 10th - I'm posting this two weeks later). I dropped M&D off at the hotel and then drove out to O'Hare to deposit the car in a long-term lot. I took the blue-line back in, emerging from the Chicago and State red-line station in the midst of a heavy downpour.
We are staying at the Whitehall Hotel. D and I had liked this place on our brief trip several years ago and the price was right - probably much cheaper than the Four Seasons across the street. It's on Delaware, just west of Michigan Avenue, near the Water Tower and only a few blocks from Oak Street Beach. The Whitehall is the brick building in the midst of the bottom photo. This location would be even better if we cared a wit about shopping! It's 3 easy blocks from the red-line and 2 from Tempo, which made breakfast easy.
