Shannon Estuary

To get from western County Clare to western County Kerry, one can either drive around the head of the Shannon Estuary through Limerick, or one can take the car ferry between Killimer and Tarbert. We chose the latter - much more direct and perhaps more interesting. The tour books don't seem to give Limerick much credit.

We arrived just in time for the 3:30 crossing. We got some nice views back as we climbed the hills farther south - and at least the sun peaked through. We made it to Dingle by dinnertime.
