Sky Road loops out around the small peninsula west of Clifden. There's sort of a high road and a low road- pretty self-explanatory. We drove to the view point at the end of the high road after checking into the Hillside Lodge, which is on Sky Road a little closer to town.
The B&B had a music theme - rock, not trad - and we stayed in the Beatles room. The proprietors had worked with several bands, including Sting and U2, and the place was filled with neat memorabilia. It was a short walk to the Clifden Castle (another post) and a quick ride into town.
