Dead Horse Canyon






There are probably other Deadhorse Canyons, but I picture them all in country marked by red rocks and sage brush.  Speaking of dead horses - or beating a dead horse:

This one is in southwest Seattle, in the forested ravine of Taylor Creek. Officially, it's called Lakeridge Park (Lakeridge - I bet that's not a terribly unique name, either).



Seattle has several of these ravine parks and all are quiet refuges from the surrounding urban landscape. They all require an army of volunteers to keep the blackberries and the ivy from taking over.
