Cahokia
Cahokia was the largest pre-Columbian city north of Mexico and in the year 1250, there were more people (20,000?) living here than in London. It's located in the Mississippi floodplain, just east of St. Louis and just downstream from the Missouri Confluence. Monks Mound, the biggest earth pyramid on the site, is over 100' high.
